Isolated heavy thunderstorms, high of 93
Today I worked on the Gulf Island of Longboat Key. It's not a part of "The Florida Keys" but it is one of my favorite places to visit for work. The island is west of Bradenton and lies between the Gulf Intercoastal Waterway at Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. It is about 10 miles long ranges between a quarter mile wide and almost a mile wide at it's widest point. The living ranges from first class resort highrise condos to beachfront shanti shacks, none of which I can afford.
It's about a 50 mile boat ride, north of our house. Someday soon I want to pilot the boat up there just to have dinner and spend the night in the bay.
Today I had lunch at Mar Vista, known to the locals as "The Pub" (its former name).
Some Gulf storms blew in today and provided brief periods of heavy rain and lightening today.
