PARROTHEAD PILGRIMAGE

Jimmy Buffett concert
Tampa FL
4/16/2011

Saturday morning, Kathy and I left the house at 7:30AM for a concert that was scheduled at 8PM.  This is how Parrot Heads roll.  We had breakfast at Bob Evans and made the 90 minute journey to the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa for the Jimmy Buffett show.  Arriving early and tailgating is half the fun of a Buffett show.  We had joined Jimmy's fan club, the Parrot Heads, last year and it paid off by scoring these reserved seats with Parrot Heads from 28 chapters, all over Florida.

We spent the day with two new friends from the club, Joe and Nancy from Port Charlotte (winters) and Cape Cod, Mass. (summers).  They had just joined the club in December but had been to many JB shows in their life together.  They are both retired teachers/administrators from the New England area.

We all had a wonderful time and highly recommend everyone see Jimmy Buffett perform live, if you ever get the chance.  Below are the photos we shot during the day.

Tiki bars were trucked/trailered in by tailgating fans
