Launched the boat at 7AM. Worked Boca Grande Pass until the waves got too rough. Caught a ton of short grouper, a Blue Runner and a nice keeper blacktip shark. While drift fishing the pass we saw a gigantic tarpon poke his head up out of the water and take a look at the outside world.  You'd have thought a dinosaur was coming out of the water.  He ducked back down, rolled his back so we could see his girth and then was gone.  Awesome.

We worked our way north along the Intercoastal Waterway catching keeper flounder and short trout plus throwback Cats and Ladyfish. Worked Gasparilla Pass and caught short grouper, keeper Mangrove Snapper, Blue Runner and throwback Sailcats. Tried the Myacca River mangroves and caught short Redfish and more cats. Finished off in the PGI canals and caught more cat and a Jack Cravelle. Headed for home at 7:30PM but had a slight interruption.

Got boarded by the Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission for a safety check and inspection of our live wells. He was very polite and professional and we were perfectly legal.

Watched the sun go down and got off the water at 8:15 PM.

Catching 11 different species in one day made for a very successful outing fishing Charlotte Harbor.
My Sharpnose shark is pictured below.
